Hunters get personal in the capital

HUNTERS Property Group, the Yorkshire independent estate agent, has established a presence in the heart of the UK’s premier financial services district with the appointment of its first personal agent in London’s Canary Wharf.

Shalen Naicker, who previously worked for global property consultant Jones Lang Lasalle and the shared accommodation specialist New Age Capital, will operate the Hunters Personal franchise for the area.

Mr Naicker, a social sciences graduate, said: “I discovered soon after leaving university that I have a real passion for sales and customer service.  Becoming a Personal agent allows me to work for myself, while benefiting from the support of a larger organisation.”

Kevin Hollinrake, managing director of York-based Hunters Property Group, said: “We are delighted that we now have our first agent in Docklands.  We believe this is an ideal market for the Hunters Personal model, which is dedicated to providing a high-quality, one-to-one service.”

Hunters opened its first office in Goodramgate, York in 1992. It now has 16 offices and its divisions include sales, lettings, auctions, new homes, survey and franchising.

In June 2008, it launched the work-from-home franchise Hunters Personal, a new estate agency concept which involves franchising home-based agents to sell and let properties in their own communities.
