THE number of administrations in UK manufacturing almost halved in the first half of the year, according to new figures.

Data from business advisory firm Deloitte shows that manufacturing administrations plunged by 46% just six months after figures for 2009 showed that manufacturing was the second hardest hit sector of the economy.
