LEP launches CEO hunt

THE SHEFFIELD City Region Local Enterprise Partnership has joined its Leeds counterpart in the hunt for a chief executive.

The LEP is looking to replace Sylvia Yates who is due to retire as City Region chief executive next month.

Advertised as bringing the candidate an “excellent salary”, it is thought the new chief executive will earn in the same £80,000 bracket as the Leeds post.

LEP chairman James Newman said: “The LEP is a relatively new and evolving organisation, but we’re demonstrating already that we are a force to be reckoned with. The new CEO will be instrumental in helping us to achieve even more in the months and years ahead.

“We are looking for an exceptional communicator, who can think strategically and most critically, provide demonstrable leadership in developing and maintaining the public and private sector partnership approach that is so critical to the LEP’s success.

“A demonstrable track record of working at the highest levels with both national and local government will be important for the role, given the importance of collaboration in these areas.”
