Multi-million pound contracts for Synectics

SYNECTICS, the Sheffield-based surveillance system arm of listed group Quadnetics, has won two new contracts worth a total of £8.5m.

Synectics Industrial Systems has won a £6m contract is for security systems in the oil and gas energy sector in Abu Dhabi.

Separately, Synectics Mobile Systems (SMS), another division of Quadnetics has secured a five year CCTV support contract worth £2.5m with public transport company Abellio, to support CCTV systems on over 600 buses across London and Surrey.

John Shepherd, chief executive of Quadnetics, said: “We are delighted to announce these major contract awards which highlight the continuing success of our strategy of creating complex surveillance systems, increasingly differentiated to serve the needs of the specialist customer sectors we target – critical infrastructure, mobile/transport and hazardous areas.”

Quadnetics also announced its results today and  saw turnover increase 13% to £69.1m. Pre-tax profits hit £2.5m with underlying profit before tax increasing 36% to £3.5m.
