LED technology firm Seren Photonics has raised £1.8m to support moves to work with manufacturers around the world.

I2BF Global Ventures, Fusion IP and IP Group have made equity investments in the business that will allow Seren to do pilot scale development work and create a specialist engineering team.

Seren was launched to commercialise research by Professor Tao Wang, from the University of Sheffield, that makes high brightness (HB) LED lights used in laptops and televisions more efficient.
