SPECIALIST automotive parts manufacturer Universal Components UK has been sold by its two owners to a subsidiary of Indian global conglomerate TVS Group.

Gary Hadley and David Kernahan, who have owned Sheffield-based UCUK since 2004, have sold the business to TVS Europe Distribution.

Universal Components has been on an acquisition spree in recent years. It bought Pollard Beaumont, a commercial vehicle parts wholesale distributor which has operations in Sheffield, Haslingden and Trafford Park in 2008.
