Herriot pub changes hands

A NORTH Yorkshire hotelier has taken over the lease of a pub that was featured in the BBC television series All Creatures Great and Small.

The King's Arms in Askrigg will be run by Charles Cody, who already owns and operates the 19-bedroom Charles Bathurst Inn in Arkengarthdale and the 11-bedroom Punch Bowl Inn in Swaledale

The property was the Drovers Arms, the local pub of TV vet James Herriot, in the television series that was popular in the 1970s and 1980s.
