BRITAIN'S biggest machine tool maker 600 Group has seen an increase in sales and profits and believes that continued investment in its products will help offset more challenging market conditions.

The Leeds-based group saw pre-tax profits increase by 23% to £3.6m in the 12 months to March 29 on sales up 4% to £78.9m for continuing operations.

The group manufactures and sells machine tools and accessories and lasers and other engineering products.
