PROPERTY group London & Stamford has confirmed it is pressing ahead with plans to sell its stake in the Meadowhall Shopping Centre.

New figures from the group show that despite the squeeze on consumer spending generally, footfall at Meadowhall grew 0.4% in the first half of the year while sales were also marginally up at 0.1%.

The group is waiting for planning permission that would see the creation of a home and garden concept store by retailer Next opened on the site.
