East Coast trains deal agreed

AN order for new intercity trains to be used on the East Coast Main Line will include the building of a new maintenance depot in Yorkshire.
Agility Trains, a consortium between Hitachi and John Laing, has won the £4.5bn contract to supply the Government with 92 trains.
They will be built at a factory in the North-East while the consortium will also build four new maintenance depots including one in Doncaster.
