SMEs get increased lending from bank

SANTANDER provided more than £400m of new lending to small and medium-sized enterprises in Yorkshire over the first half of its financial year, the bank has said.
Lendings to SMEs in the region increased by 39% over the period as Santander UK boosted its interim pre-tax profits by 32% to £725m.
