OIL exploration data business Getech has announced a boardroom shake-up.

Ian Somerton has stood down with immediate effect, but will remain with the business, and will be replaced by Prof Paul Carey.

Prof Carey was director of international sale at Getech and will take the title of marketing and sales director.

Getech chairman Stuart Paton said: "We would like to express our thanks to Ian Somerton, who has made a major contribution as a director and employee of the company since he joined GETECH in 1994.
