Sheffield roads deal finalised

THE £2bn PFI project to improve Sheffield's road network has reached financial close.
Amey will manage the refurbishment and maintenance programme for Sheffield's roads for 25 years under the deal which includes £1.2bn of Government spending.
Transport Minister Norman Baker said: "Well maintained local networks which work well for all road users – motorists, cyclists, pedestrians and public transport passengers - are vital for communities and encourage businesses to thrive.
