A PROPOSED takeover of Leeds United by a Middle Eastern consortium has collapsed, according to the Leeds United Supporters Trust.

LUST claims talks have broken down with current owner and chairman Ken Bates after failing to conclude a deal to buy the Elland Road club.

Leeds United have been in discussions with the consortium for two months.

The Middle Eastern group had been carrying out due diligence.
