Green light bid for York mosque plans

REVISED plans for a £1.5m purpose-built mosque - believed to be the first of its type ever built in York - have been submitted to city planners.

If given the green light, the city's Muslim community will step up fund raising efforts to finance the scheme nationwide.

The new application replaces a design for a building almost twice the size which was withdrawn earlier this year.
