BRITISH Land has sold two supermarkets on the Humber in a deal worth £2.9m.

The deal for the Co-Op stores in Barton and Cleethorpes were part of a wider disposal programme which saw the property investor sell seven properties for £118m.

Charles Maudsley, head of retail for British Land, said: "On the back of good demand in the foodstore sector, we have sold over £100m of foodstore investments featuring a variety of ages, rent levels and lease expiries.
