TRAINING company Dale Carnegie’s Northern England team has celebrated its 100 year anniversary by honouring a key client.

Robert Forrester, chief executive of Vertu Motors, received the Dale Carnegie Leadership Award in front of the organisations’ Northern alumni.

The award was presented by David Fagiano, chief operating Officer for Dale Carnegie and Associates. 

Juliette Dennett, managing director of Dale Carnegie Northern England, said: “This year has been a momentous one for Dale Carnegie and we wanted to celebrate the success of Vertu Motors by presenting Robert with the award, which is for outstanding business leaders where exceptional results have been achieved through exemplary leadership.”

GARBUTT & Elliott chairman David Dickson has been re-elected to the world governing council of global accountancy organisation Praxity.

Mr Dickson became senior partenr and chairman at the firm four years ago having previously been managing partner.

He said: “It is a tremendous honour to be re-elected as Praxity’s European at-large representative on the governing council for the next three years.

“It also gives me the perfect opportunity to develop my role as an ambassador for the great city of York.”

EVENTS and hospitality business Dine has launched a new consultancy arm aimed at historic commercial properties.

The consultancy team will be led by Dine managing director Daniel Gill and his father Michael who ran Leeds resaurant Pool Court.

It will offer advice on how stately homes and similar properties can be turned into profitable businesses.

Mr Gill said: “Turning a property into an event venue is a complex process and one that requires a number of experts in different fields to assist. We want to help struggling venues and commercial properties along the way and ensure they are maximising their offering to increase profitability.”

LAW firm DLA Piper is working with UK Trade & Investment to highlight business opportunities in the Asia Pacific region.

Paul Madden, High Commissioner at UKTI Canberra and Russell Adams, office managing partner at DLA Piper in Sydney, are the main speakers at the event on October 12 at DLA Piper’s Leeds offices.
