Yorkshire businesses show output growth

PRIVATE sector output grew for a second successive month in September although manufacturers suffered, according to new figures.
Among the companies surveyed, 38% reported an increase in new business while 26% saw a decline.
The Yorkshire Purchasing Managers Index hit 52.9, down from the 54.3 registered in August but still above the crucial 50 mark representing increased output.
However companies also reported falling headcounts as they made redundancies.
