SHEPHERD Group is the highest Yorkshire company to be placed in a league table of Britain's top 250 leading mid-market private companies.

The York-based builder and developer, which is family owned and has sales of more than £600m, has been placed third in the latest Sunday Times Grant Thornton Top Track 250.
