Yorkshire eyes £1.3bn prize

GOVERNMENT backing to develop carbon capture and storage technology in Yorkshire could grow economic output by £1.3bn and create thousands of jobs, according to a new report.
It suggests developing CCS projects would have short term impacts through construction but also benefit the region in the long term as foreign investors look to tap into the region's expertise and infrastructure.
CCS focuses on capturing gases that can harm the environment before the enter the atmosphere and storing them safely.
