Media heavyweights to share expertise at conference

HIGH profile publicist Max Clifford will give an insight into the UK media industry at the 2012 CIPR Northern Conference.

Mr Clifford – the man behind the famous ‘Freddie Starr ate my hamster’ headline in The Sun – has represented famous names including Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole.

Other speakers at the event, titled ‘Fit for the future’ will include Gavin Forth, global marketing director at Yorkshire beauty products brand ghd, and Nicola Green, director of communications and reputation at Telefonica UK.

David Parkin, founder and director of TheBusinessDesk.com, will take part in a panel debate on issues including the future of print media and the effects of the Leveson Inquiry, alongside BBC reporter Len Tingle and freelance journalist Alison Epstein.

Other panel debates at the event, which is taking place at The Rose Bowl at Leeds Met University on October 31, will explore social media and video broadcasting.

A number of workshops will also be held, looking at issues ranging from leadership to the future of digital.
