Horizon Care invests in second home

A £5m care home in South Yorkshire is set to create up to 100 jobs after opening its doors to new residents.

The Co-operative Bank has funded the development of Waterside Grange, a 78 bedroom, purpose built nursing and residential home.

The home in Dinnington is the second to be opened by family-run Horizon Care in South Yorkshire since 2010.

Waterside Grange will create approximately 100 full and part time jobs in the Dinnington area with roles in a range of areas including nursing, caring, kitchen staff, maintenance and cleaning.

Laura Higginbottom, managing director of Horizon Care, said: “We are extremely pleased to announce the opening of our second care home, Waterside Grange, which will provide excellent care facilities to the people of Dinnington and, we hope, a welcome job boost.

“My family decided to invest in care homes when, sadly, my grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and we struggled to find a care home that we would be happy for her to spend his later years in. Now we have two care homes that we hope clients and their families will be happy to come and live in.

“We would like to thank The Co-operative Bank as an organisation and Steve Clarke in particular for their ongoing support of our plans and the expert advice that they offer.”

Steve Clarke, senior relationship manager at The Co-operative Bank, said: “The Higginbottom family, via Horizon Care, offer top class care facilities to their clients.

“We have a longstanding relationship with the family and are extremely supportive of the expansion of their care home facilities across South Yorkshire.”
