City move for DLA Design

DLA Design Group, a specialist in architectural, graphic, interior, landscape and urban design, is transferring all its 74 staff from Wakefield to Leeds.

The business, which closed its office in Leeds three years ago, has secured premises in Leeds city centre.

DLA will be moving from its present premises at Wakefield 41 Business Park early next year having taken 10,000 sq ft of office space at 55 St Pauls Street.

Owned by Freshwater Group, it is the first time 55 St Pauls Street has been available to rent in more than 15 years.

DLA has taken a 10 year lease on the property and will refurbish its space.

All of the staff who currently based in the Wakefield office will make the move to the new premises in the first half of 2013.

Bob Taylor, of DLA Design Group, said: “DLA have been established in Yorkshire for over 30 years. The move to the regional capital will enable us to provide the best service to our existing client base, as well as providing an exciting opportunity for further business development.”

Richard Dunn, of Sanderson Weatherall, which acted for Freshwater Group on the letting, added: “55 St Pauls Street offers the rare opportunity for medium-sized occupiers to enjoy the prestige of a self-contained building in a prime location, and I am sure it will make an ideal headquarters for DLA once refurbished.”

DLA Design was advised by BNP Paribas Real Estate.
