Latest Appointments: Engage Mutual, Pressure Technologies, Baker Tilly
CAROL Ritchie has been appointed interim finance director of savings and health insurance friendly society Engage Mutual.
Ms Ritchie takes the role as current finance and operations director Peter Burrows takes up the position of acting chief executive following Andrew Haigh’s decision to step down from the Harrogate-based mutual.
Ms Ritchie has worked extensively in senior finance roles in both the mutual and financial services sectors for more than 20 years, including recent assignments at Co-op Banking Group and Royal Liver.
She said: “I am pleased to be joining Engage Mutual and I look forward to using my experience and making a positive contribution to the future of the organisation.”

ALAN Wilson has been named as the new chairman of Pressure Technologies following the resignation of Richard Shacklady at yesterday’s annual general meeting.
Mr Shacklady will remain on the Sheffield-based company’s board as a non-executive director until March 31.
Mr Wilson is a chartered engineer and a member of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects. He has extensive experience in the oil and gas and oilfield services sectors, having held senior positions at Kvaerner Oil & Gas, The Weir Group, CRP and Trelleborg Offshore.
Chief executive John Hayward said: “Richard has successfully chaired the company from its AIM flotation in June 2007. We are grateful for the contribution he has made and are pleased that he has agreed to remain on the board to aid an orderly handover.
“On behalf of the directors, I welcome Alan to the board. His experience will be particularly useful as we seek to identify complementary acquisition targets in the oil and gas and oilfield services sectors.”

BAKER Tilly has made two new appointments to support and strengthen its corporate finance offering in Leeds.
Laura Howes and Amy Lewis join as corporate finance managers, and will be focussing on lead advisory and transaction services.
Ms Howes Laura was previously part of the corporate finance team at Garbutt & Elliott.
Prior to her new appointment, Ms Lewis worked in corporate finance for BDO and worked primarily with mid-market clients across a variety of sectors including retail.
Other changes within the team include the internal promotions of Martin Athey as associate director, and James McDonnell as manager.
Umito Choji also joins as a corporate finance executive.
