Funding boost for SPC

SPECIALITY Paperboard Containers is planning further capital investment in plant and machinery after securing new funding.

Barclays has announced the partnership with the Rotherham-based business. 

The company won the Queens Award for Enterprise for International Trade in 2011.

It manufactures a range of direct fill paperboard containers and lids for the food processing and packing industry.

The company has had £1.5m of capital investment last year and is aiming to invest further in 2013.

Paul Nixon, managing director of Speciality Paperboard Containers, said: “Barclays has been very supportive of our requirements and plays an integral part in our plans for future growth. With the new banking facilities in place, we are now able to focus on further growth plans.”

Speciality Paperboard Containers employs 27 staff across South Yorkshire and has an annual turnover of £5.2m.
