KLINGER UK has opened a joint manufacturing plant for specialist gasket production in Saudi Arabia.

The partnership is between Klinger UK and Saudi Arabian investment group United Business Petroleum Company (UBPC).

Alan Bates, Klinger UK’s managing director, said: “The new facility has already received approval from Saudi based contractors and petrochemical producers. It strengthens our ability to service the country’s extensive petrochemical industry and work in partnership to further build our share of the US$37bn oil and gas projects market in Saudi Arabia.”

The new operation will hold large stocks of goods manufactured by Klinger in the UK, as well as manufacturing a range of specialist spiral wound gaskets for the Saudi market.

ELECTRICAL services provider Freedom Group has won a £5m deal to provide the grounds maintenance framework for Yorkshire Water. 
 
The five-year contract renewal secured by West Yorkshire-based Freedom’s Civil Asset Management business covers all geographical areas.

It is the first time Yorkshire Water has issued a sole award for the work.

CLAIRE Mulholland of PwC has been named the winner of the Sharp Consultancy Young Accountant of the Year competition.

The competition, which is in its thirteenth year, is run by financial recruitment specialists Sharp Consultancy in conjunction with West Yorkshire Society of Chartered Accountants and the Leeds Chartered Accountants Student Society.

It aims to recognise the best of the region’s accountants who are either training to be qualified or have been qualified for up to two years. 

Ms Mulholland, 25, from Morley, West Yorkshire, started a placement with PwC in 2008 and joined the firm two years later after graduating from university. 

She impressed the judging panel with a superb exam record and demonstrated leadership and initiative and work and technical competence.

LAW firm Beaumont Legal has been instructed to negotiate Poundworld’s new store openings for 2013.

The retailer has ambitious growth plans for at least another 50 store openings across the UK this year.
Wakefield-based Beaumont Legal will be responsible for negotiating and completing the new store leases.
