Commercial unit released at Crispin Lofts development

A COMMUNITY store or bar is now being sought for a well-known gateway unit that will mark the completion of the transformation of Crispin Lofts in Leeds city centre.

The development by Rushbond Group is Leeds’s only residential ‘built to rent’ scheme and has been a major success with nearly all 82 apartments let.

The grade II listed landmark building, previously known as Crispin House, had sat in a partially developed state for more than 10 years before Rushbond acquired it.

Work is now complete on a 4,060 sq ft unit arranged over ground and basement levels that occupies a prominent location on the corner of North Street and New York Road.

The unit is being marketed by Leeds Agents Sanderson Weatherall and Carter Towler.

Richard Baker of Rushbond said: “We would love to see a great local store here – this well loved local landmark heralds this vibrant edge “village” – a step away from the great city centre offerings.

“Leeds city centre’s Northern Quarter benefits from a really dynamic community with neighbouring businesses including some of the city’s best independent bars and cafes such as The Reliance Bar & Dining Room, Stotts Cafe, The Greedy Pig and the famous Hansa’s Indian Restaurant.

“All these businesses complement each other as well as the area and I’m sure this landmark unit can enhance this further and make a positive contribution to the area’s vibrant street-scene.”
