Jet2.com owner Dart Group sees profits ahead

DART Group, owner of the airline Jet2.com, today said that it expects profits to be ahead thanks to lower than anticipated winter losses.

The Leeds-based company, which as well as the airline, operates a package holidays business and the Fowler Welch distribution and logistics business, said that it is “cautiously optimistic about our ability to increase profits in the current financial year, notwithstanding the continuing tough economic environment”.

Dart Group said that it has added a 13% increase in capacity on Jet2.com flights for summer 2013 which would help performance in its current trading year to March 31, 2014.

It added: “Jet2.com continues to be supported by the successful expansion of Jet2holidays and its sales of great value package holidays. Trading volumes are developing satisfactorily at Fowler Welch, one of the UK’s leading distribution and logistics providers, and the business remains well placed for profitable growth.”
