Global manufacturer AESSEAL makes further strides overseas

AESSEAL, one of the world’s largest mechanical seals manufacturers, is making significant steps in overseas markets.

The group, which has its Global Technology Centre headquarters in Rotherham, has announced that its AESPUMP division has had its South African operation chosen as a new partner by industrial pump and compressor specialist Sundyne, headquartered in the USA.

Sundyne has made AESPUMP its sole authorized representative, distributor and service provider for the whole of South Africa. AESPUMP will be responsible for sales, maintenance, repair and technical support for the entire portfolio of Sundyne pumps and compressors throughout the country, in addition to the supply of spares.

The group’s founder and managing director, Chris Rea, OBE, welcomed the new partnership and stressed the value of an ethical foundation for business.
He said: “Sundyne is a significant and respected player and we’re naturally delighted to be appointed as their distributor in South Africa.

“Wherever we operate in the world we pursue excellence. Our business believes in providing exceptional customer service and we are clear that it is imperative to have extremely high ethical standards, but it is also part of excellence.”

AESSEAL has also revealed that it has opened a £3.3m, high specification manufacturing extension to its North American headquarters, in Rockford, Tennessee.

Last month AESSEAL said the UK side of the mechanical seal business grew by 5.2%  and sales to group companies around the world grew by 3.8%.

It also reported that it has expanded in the UK and around the world, especially in emerging markets, and said it is “well positioned to take advantage of the higher growth rates in markets outside of Europe and the USA” and will be continuing to strengthen its network wherever it sees opportunities for accelerated development, including sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East.
