Deloitte takes on new talent

DELOITTE has taken on 37 new starters in Leeds.

The business advisory firm said the latest intake is part of Deloitte’s continuing growth in the region, where the firm recently promoted a new partner and five new directors.

The new recruits will begin work at Deloitte’s Leeds office having overcome stiff competition to become part of Yorkshire’s next generation of business professionals.

Amongst the recruits are 35 graduates, one industrial placement and a school leaver who has joined the firm as part of its BrightStart scheme, a five-year training and development programme for school leavers.

The new graduates’ roles will include time working with clients across the region, together with training and studying for external exams.

Deloitte’s Yorkshire office employs more than 440 staff and announced revenue growth of 6% to £90m in the year ending May 31 2013.

Martin Jenkins, practice senior partner at Deloitte in Yorkshire, said the firm has recruited from a broad range of graduates and school leavers: “I am delighted that we are opening so many positions for young people in Yorkshire. Deloitte invests significant time and resources in our graduate programme in the knowledge that their development will ultimately benefit our clients and help ensure the firm’s future growth.”
