Retail bosses to speak at industry debate in Leeds

TOP directors of retail chains Pets at Home and TM Lewin are among the speakers at a retail industry debate, to be held at the Everyman Cinema next week.

The debate, hosted by law firm Squires Sanders, will focus on the opportunities and challenges of multichannel.

It will include discussions on multichannel marketing; managing and protecting brand and reputation; and how the property market should adapt to meet the changes occurring within the retail industry.

Speakers will include: Peter Pritchard, commercial director of Pets at Home; Keith Nesbitt, chief operating office at TM Lewin; Adrian Wright, leasing director at INTU; Richard Boland and chief executive of Retail Trust.

Earlier this year, Squires Sanders, in conjunction with Kantar Retail and the Retail Trust, conducted a survey of retailers, suppliers and shoppers on the pros and cons of multichannel.

The resulting report – The Multichannel High Street: A Nation of Shoppers but is it a Nation of Shopkeepers – found that with the internet influencing trends in the market, those retailers who embrace a genuine multichannel service seem increasingly likely to be the successful market players of the future.

Matthew Lewis, global head of retail for Squire Sanders, said: “The retail debate is a fantastic opportunity to hear from leading retailers and commentators and to share your views on the big issues affecting retail, including the growth and impact of multichannel and the state of our high streets.”
