Global firm’s move to provide 100 new jobs

THE global packaging firm which has snapped up a 320,000 sq ft warehouse in Scunthorpe said it plans to employ more than 100 local people from both sides of the Humber.

Corrugated Synergies International (CSI) which manufacturers corrugated boards for packaging, said it has made a multi-million pound investment in the new site – its first in the UK- and is looking to be in the area for “a long time”.

CSI is headquartered in Renton – a suburb in Seattle. The business has appointed managing director Simon Holmes to head up its UK operation and said it is in a prime location to work with businesses in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.

Vice president, Victor Pinto, said: “We are very much looking forward to the move. We worked closely with North Lincolnshire Council and they provided a lot of incentives for CSI to invest in this area.”

Altus Edwin Hill, acting on behalf of the Mondi Hypac, completed the freehold sale, working alongside joint agent Gent Visick.
