Northern Hub rail project to speed-up journey times is to start

WORK on the £600m Northern Hub rail project, which promises to speed-up journey times between Liverpool, Manchester, Yorkshire and the North East, are set to start.

Chancellor George Osborne was attending a launch event at Manchester Airport's train station this morning, where he will showcase the economic benefits of the project, which is set to create up to 20,000 jobs and boost the northern economy by billions of pounds.

Not before time but now the scheme is about to start we can all see the benefits of rail travel to the economy. We must ensure Yorkshire's interests are well represented and not lose out as we have done in the past. Perhaps the next move is a rail link to LBA from Leeds centre.
