Race car manufacturer continues to boost exports

SALES and export figures at road and race car manufacturer Ginetta continue to flourish.

The Leeds-based business said it has doubled sales over the past 12 months and increased its exports to 58 cars, building on its market presence in Japan.

Ginetta chairman, Lawrence Tomlinson, said: “We’ve had a fantastic year at the LNT Group and I am particularly proud of the growth we are achieving at Ginetta.  Manufacturing and exports are so key to driving UK growth, and Ginetta are working hard with our local supply chain to support our local economy within Yorkshire too.”

The firm said it is building links with the Far East, with 12 G40R’s currently in build for Japan, and actively seeking to establish a relationship with China. Ginetta now exports more than half the cars it produces around the world, exporting to every continent apart from Antarctica.

Ginetta is also gearing up for one of its busiest race weekends in recent years, as 70 of the Yorkshire built race cars take to the track over the forthcoming Easter weekend.

Tomlinson added: “Ginetta continues to go from strength to strength with every passing season, and the fact that we have every model of car we produce competing this weekend is testament to the success of the championships we offer and visible racing career ladder in place.”

Ginetta is part of the LNT Group which encompasses five businesses – Ideal Care Homes, LNT Construction, LNT Software, LNT Solutions and Ginetta – employing 2,000 people.
