BRITAIN'S biggest coal-fired power station has once again further cemented its green commitment with plans to operate three biomass-fired generation plants.

Selby-based Drax announced that it has entered a joint development agreement with Siemens Project Ventures to build, own and operate the plants.

Current estimates of the total capital cost of the investment programme are around £2bn including investments in ancillary biomass logistics and processing facilities.
