Law firm reveals plans to move to larger premises

LAW firm Mills & Reeve is relocating its Leeds office to larger premises as it looks to boost its presence in the Yorkshire legal market.

The firm said it is in advanced discussions to relocate its Leeds office and expects to sign heads of terms in the coming weeks.

Philip Way, who heads up the Leeds office, said: “We strongly believe there is a gap in the regional market for a firm offering our unique range of sector specialisms and are confident of emulating the strong performances of our other UK offices.

“Mills & Reeve has an excellent reputation in the private client arena in Leeds and our insurance litigation and real estate teams have also enjoyed great success in recent years. We now believe there are significant opportunities to expand our commercial offering in the Yorkshire market.”

The law firm, which is currently based in 1 City Square, Leeds, is also set to recruit a number of senior corporate and commercial lawyers.  The firm is planning to make senior lateral hires in the areas of corporate, commercial, employment, construction and commercial disputes.

Mills & Reeve also has offices in Birmingham, Cambridge, London, Manchester and Norwich. In its 2013/14 results turnover reached a record £80m – an increase of 13% from last year.

The Leeds office was formed in 2008 when family partners Philip Way and David Salter, together with their five-strong team, transferred from Addleshaw Goddard to Mills & Reeve.
