ANDREW McAulay, who trained with Clarion and heads its costs and litigation funding team, has been promoted to partner.
McAulay has worked in legal costs claims for 13 years having joined Clarion as a trainee law costs draftsman in 2001. In 2008 he became head of costs and litigation funding at the firm, leading its six-strong team on a portfolio of nationwide clients.
Initially providing this specialist service internally at Clarion, he now works with over 50 law firms across the UK. He has particular expertise in solicitor/own client costs disputes, court of protection costs, litigation funding and high value commercial litigation and personal injury costs.
“Over the last five years, Andrew has taken an internal non-profit making team and turned it into one of the most profitable teams in the practice and he has ambitious plans for its continued growth,” says Mark Burns, managing partner at Clarion.

DEBT recovery specialist Andrew Langton has been appointed as the new head of debt collection at LCF Law in Bradford.
He will lead the firm’s existing debt recovery team acting for a wide range of clients across the North.
Recruited from Fieldfisher (formerly Heatons) in Manchester, Langton has previously worked for and led teams at law firms DLA, Hammonds, Drydens and Lupton Fawcett.
He says: “Businesses need cash to survive. At LCF Law we apply commercial sense and in-depth knowledge of the commercial debt recovery process to achieve that for clients.”

PROSPERIS, the Leeds-based financial advisory firm has continued its growth with five new appointments following the hire of David Carrington as corporate development director at the end of last year.
Tom La Dell, and independent financial adviser, has over 8 years’ experience in the financial services sector and specialises in formulating individual retirement, investment, protection and tax planning strategies.
James Watson, employee benefits manager, has recently joined Prosperis to head up the employee benefits service proposition and manage client relationships in this area. His industry experience extends across the last 13 years, working with companies’ group risk, insurance and healthcare needs, from local small employers to nationwide brands and corporate multi-nationals.
David Atkinson, head of client servicing, has worked in the financial services arena for over 25 years and has been appointed to manage the administration services provided to clients, in line with the Prosperis service commitments.
Robert Binks & Karl Fleetwood join Prosperis as part of its expanding graduate training scheme, a structured programme combining ‘on-the-job’ training whilst studying for a professional qualification. Prosperis now has three graduate trainees on board.
