Appointments: Langleys; Benenden; Engage Mutual
THE property litigation team at Langleys Solicitors in York has consolidated a 12-month period of rapid growth, in which the team’s revenue has doubled, with the appointment of solicitor Kelly Kirby as an associate.
Kirby, who originally qualified as a barrister, joins the firm from DWF in Leeds and specialises in commercial, residential and agricultural property disputes and claims. She has worked with a wide range of clients over the years including Morrisons, The Co-operative Group and Barratt Homes.
From a fifth generation farming family, Kirby has acted for landlords, tenants and landowners, and in her role at Langleys, will help develop the firm’s commercial and agricultural client base.
Langleys, which employs almost 400 staff across its two offices, recorded revenues of more than £20m to year end April 2014, equating to over 7% growth compared to the previous 12 months.

YORK-based not-for-profit healthcare provider Benenden Group has announced the appointment of a new group head of strategy Jason Hogan.
Hogan will assist in the development and implementation of strategy across the business, with a particular focus on bringing consistency, coherence and granularity to the Benenden strategic vision of becoming the leading health and wellbeing mutual community in the UK.
He brings more than 20 years of experience within strategy and finance roles, the most recent being at Simplyhealth as the head of commercial finance. Prior to this, his background has included roles within the manufacturing sector and at the Automobile Association.

ENGAGE Mutual has recruited Stuart Tragheim as its sales director to replace Maria Harris.
Tragheim has over 30 years’ experience in the sector holding high profile roles at both Liverpool Victoria and the Association of British Insurers, before setting up his own consultancy business.
He joins at the end of July and will work alongside Harris until August.
The former chairman of trade body Investment Life Assurance Group Limited (ILAG), Tragheim is an expert in routes to market working with IFAs and also creating direct to consumer products.
“We will be sad to see Maria go but are delighted to have someone of Stuart’s calibre joining us given his wealth of experience both in protection and financial services as a whole,” said Peter Burrows, CEO of Engage Mutual.
