Wolseley site sold in £12m deal

WOLSELEY UK’s regional distribution centre site in Melmerby has been sold in a deal worth £12.2m.

Melmerby is one of four RDC’s in the UK for Wolseley UK, all supported by the national distribution centre and head office located at Leamington Spa.

Melmerby is the only RDC which serves the North of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland, employing around 220 staff.

The distribution warehouse site is being acquired by Tritax Big Box REIT with an unexpired lease term of around 12 years.

Colin Godfrey, partner of Tritax, said: “We are delighted with our acquisition of the site and building leased by Wolseley UK in Melmerby, which serves the North of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland with immediate motorway connectivity. It also provides tenant diversification to our current portfolio.”
