Appointments: Reward; Andrew Jackson; Synergize

BUSINESS lender Reward has strengthened its senior team with the appointment of experienced financier Tim Stafford as operations and risk director for both its commercial finance and capital businesses.

The recruitment of Stafford, who joins from Aldermore Invoice Finance, adds another chartered banker to the Reward team, and follows the successful opening of its Manchester office and a series of high profile recruits already this year. These include the appointments of Calvin Dexter and Neil McGivern.

Tom Flannery, who leads the Reward business together with partner Dave Jones, said: “Tim’s appointment is significant to our ambitious growth strategy and, as another underwriter, re-enforces our message of being able to provide a quick, viable, secured funding alternative for SMEs.”

Stafford added: “I’m really pleased to be working again with Tom and Dave, joining their already highly successful team and looking forward to supporting the business in its growth ambitions.  Reward has a unique offering and it’s great to be working in such a fast paced and thriving environment where clients are able to deal directly with us, the decision makers.”

ENERGY efficiency specialist Synergize has appointed Tony Butler as a director.

Butler has spent the last four years as commercial manager at Community Interest Company (CIC) and Green Deal Provider, Yorkshire Energy Services, where he was responsible for delivering projects to tackle fuel poverty and reduce CO2 emissions across the UK.

Peter Jones, managing director of Leeds-based Synergize Ltd, said: “The current lack of continuity in Government policy on home energy efficiency is creating poor consumer confidence and with elections looming next year, we expect very little to change in the short term, leaving the industry in an ‘hiatus’ position.

“However, we are not resting on our laurels. Tony’s experience and track record of finding new and innovative routes to market will ensure that we maintain stability in the business and are geared up for delivering schemes which will allow home and business owners to efficiently and affordably improve their properties for the good of both the environment and their own pockets.”
