Insurance broker forecasts revenue and employee growth

HENDERSON Insurance Broker’s East Yorkshire office is celebrating its tenth anniversary while forecasting continued revenue and employee growth.

Henderson said its Hessle office is capitalising on key, thriving business sectors in the Humber region.

Andrew Wakefield, director in Hessle, said: “We are going through a process of steady, organic growth and are very optimistic about what’s on the horizon. After 10 years here business is stronger than ever, and I expect to see our revenues increase by 10 to 20% a year for the foreseeable future.

“The logistics sector is proving to be very fruitful with good levels of activity in haulage, warehousing, and freight forwarding,” said Mr Wakefield, who heads up a team of commercial brokers, claims handlers, account executives and admin staff.

“Other sectors which currently stand out and look like performing well in the future include manufacturing, engineering, construction, professional services, marine and offshore.”

The company, which operates from ten offices across the UK, opened an office in Hull in 2004 before moving to the current location in Hessle in 2007. Since then, revenues and staff numbers have steadily risen.

Earlier this year the Hessle branch placed annual client premiums of more than £10m for the first time, compared to the £2.2m the office placed in 2007. In that time it has also doubled the size of its office space and staff numbers have risen from six to 17.

The group, which started in Lincolnshire in 1986, has head offices at Kirmington, next to Humberside Airport.
