Brazilian barbecue restaurant to open in Leeds

BRASILIAN barbecue restaurant Cabana is investing £1.5m in a new site in Trinity Leeds, which is set to open next month.

Its first venture outside of London, the Brazilian barbecue specialist currently has six multi-award winning restaurants across London and has plans to expand further next year.  The move to Leeds will create more than 60 new jobs.

Launched in 2011 by restaurateurs Jamie Barber and Brazilian-born David Ponté, Cabana currently employs around 300 people in the UK.

“The past three years have seen Cabana really take off and we knew the time was right to expand our Brazilian Barbecue offering beyond London.  Visiting Leeds, it was clear to us that the city, with its vibrant business community, huge student population and amazing shopping, had to be our first place to open,” Barber said.
