Jobs saved as window manufacturer bought out of administration

A LEEDS window manufacturer has been bought out of administration saving all 14 jobs.

Fourteen-year-old manufacturing and installation company Franklin Windows, which operates from Carlton Industrial Estate in Yeadon, has been acquired by Composite Windows Direct (Europe), and will trade as Franklin Windows.

Insolvency and business turnaround specialist Wilson Field was appointed on October 7 to the company which suppliers composite, UPVC windows, doors, conservatories and orangeries, following debt issues with HMRC.

The total value of the deal is undisclosed but includes the business and the assets of the company.

Kelly Burton, associate director and insolvency practitioner at the Leeds office of Wilson Field, said: “Due to quick actions, we were able to prevent a winding up petition of the company and secure a new future for the business and all its 14 employees.”
