Gravity jumps into Xscape with region’s first trampoline park

YORKSHIRE-based Gravity Fitness is set to create up to 35 jobs after announcing that it is to open the region’s first indoor trampoline park after agreeing terms to take a 18,000 sq ft unit at Xscape in Castleford.

Due to open in mid-January, the new £1m facility is targeted at adults, children and urban sport enthusiasts and will include more than 90 flat and angled trampolines, as well as foam pits and basketball hoops.

There are more than 300 trampoline parks in America and the concept has now spread to other countries including Canada, Australia, Amsterdam, Ireland, Mexico and Singapore.

In the UK there are only a handful but the Bridlington-based business is already looking to launch new sites over the next few years.

Harvey Jenkinson from Gravity said: “We are delighted to be launching our first site in Yorkshire and are excited by the potential growth in the market.”

Michael Harrison from Gravity added: “The venue is ideally suited to our needs and now we have taken possession we are looking forward to fitting it out and gearing up for our launch.”
