Glasses firm captures new signing and plans global targets

DESIGNER football glasses company Fan Frames has its sights set on Premier League domination after adding another club to its portfolio.

Hull-based Fan Frames is already the official supplier of club-branded glasses and sunglasses for many of the top Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City and has now added Tottenham Hotspur to the list.

Paul Gibson, a former optometrist who came up with the idea of supplying fans with branded eyewear, said: “Tottenham Hotspur is one of the most famous names in world football and one we’ve coveted for a long time. We’ve been under pressure from Spurs fans for a while to make our products available to them – especially as their rivals down the road have been wearing our glasses and shades for a while now. We are developing a phenomenal collection of the major national and international clubs, and Tottenham was a glaring omission.”

With Premiership football televised in more than 200 countries and followed by more than one billion fans worldwide, Gibson said he believed Fan Frames was on the verge of tapping into a world of new opportunities.

Having recently signed a deal to sell its products through US-based equipment and merchandise retailer, Sports Endeavours, providing “valuable exposure to the massive American market”, it is now planning to target the Indian market.

“The premier league potential is phenomenal. There are 600 million middle class people in India at the moment and there is a massive Premiership following. We ran a Facebook competition and the traffic from India was bigger than the traffic we were getting from the UK. The statistics speak for themselves. Manchester United alone are estimated to have more than 660 million fans worldwide. Tottenham are another one of those clubs that are recognised worldwide, so we will be doing our bit to ensure that famous crest is seen all over the planet.” said Gibson.
