Snow+Rock creates 30 jobs at new Leeds store

HIGH street retailer Snow+Rock has created 30 jobs after opening its largest British store in the centre of Leeds.

Its new 12,000 sq ft shop in Albion Place will also be home to its Runners Need and Cycle Surgery brands.

The shop – which spans three floors – offers many of the world’s best known outdoor and sports brands, backed up by expert knowledge and features such as ski boot fitting, a cycle workshop and a dedicated runners’ fit lab.

The store was officially opened earlier this month by middle distance runner and Team GB athlete Laura Weightman and Snow+Rock chief operating officer Hamish Mansbridge.

Snow+Rock opened its first store in London in 1982, and has grown to have 23 outlets nationwide.

Richard Cotter, chief executive of the Snow+Rock Group, said: “This is the biggest Snow+Rock Group tri-brand store in the country and we’ve worked really hard to make sure that our customers will get the very best products and advice, whether they’re dedicated runners, cyclists or outdoor and winter sports enthusiasts.”

Tom Riordan, chief executive of Leeds City Council, added: “I’d like to welcome this latest addition to the burgeoning Leeds retail scene and especially the new jobs it will create.

“It will also help promote the important message of people leading active and healthy lifestyles, building on the inspiration provided by our successful hosting of the Tour de France Grand Départ this summer.”
