Appointments: Saffery Champness; Orchard; BCL Legal; Marshall Wooldridge

HARROGATE accountancy firm Saffery Champness has announced a trio of internal promotions.

Vicky Iley has been promoted from supervisor to corporate tax manager and Lucy Jenkins has been appointed to the role of manager in the audit team, with Erica White moving up to take on the role of audit supervisor.

Partner Jonathan Davis said the promotions would pave the way for growth, with new opportunities being created at all levels of the business.

“It is always pleasing to be able to reward talent with career progression and we are fortunate that our current pace of growth allows us to make the most of the skills that exist within our team,” he said.

“These promotions are part of a wider strategy that will also see the creation of new entry level trainee positions.”

Mr Davis said the firm was experiencing growth across the board in Yorkshire with the landed estates and private client teams performing particularly well.

ENERGY management consultancy Orchard Energy has promoted Jack Errington to the role of regional manager for the Northern region.

Errington joined Orchard earlier this year having built his career in the energy industry working for Utilitywise, Inenco and EnergyTEAM.

Gareth Henderson, managing director of Orchard Energy, said: “Jack has extensive knowledge of the energy markets and is experienced in energy solutions, which is currently one of the biggest growth areas of our business.

“He is a seasoned sales professional who has demonstrated his capabilities over the past few months by driving new business and I am delighted to be able to give him this opportunity to develop his career with Orchard.”

Errington will be responsible for overseeing the new business and telemarketing teams for the Northern region, working from Orchard’s Elland office.

LEGAL recruitment specialist BCL Legal has welcomed another consultant to its growing team.

Rachel Darlington has joined as a consultant and will be placing solicitors, legal executives and paralegals into commercial practice areas across Yorkshire.

She initially worked for BCL Legal from 2003 to 2004 and was the Leeds-based firm’s first employee. She left in order to practice as a criminal lawyer but decided to move back into recruitment this year. Her last post as criminal lawyer was at Olliers Solicitors.

INSURANCE brokers and financial advisors Marshall Wooldridge has appointed Julia Wilding to the board.

Wilding is a chartered insurance broker and has been with Yeadon-based Marshall Wooldridge for six years joining from Bluefin.

James Hall, managing director of Marshall Wooldridge, said: “We would like to congratulate Julia on her appointment and welcome her to our board. Julia’s promotion is a significant step in recognising and encouraging the talent we have within our own business, and the importance we place on promoting professionalism in our business.”
