Historic Yorkshire manufacturer placed into administration
FOX Wire, the UK’s largest manufacturer of engineering wires in stainless steel, nickel alloys, copper, brass and aluminium, has been placed into administration.
Andrew Wood and Ashleigh Fletcher of The P&A Partnership have been appointed administrators of the 150-year-old South Yorkshire company, based in Stocksbridge.
The P&A Partnership said the directors and their financial advisors have in recent months attempted to obtain new finance to support the business into the future but to no avail.
The remaining 40 staff have been made redundant and the administrators are undertaking a formal wind down of the company.
