Trustees wanted for Leeds Community Foundation

LEEDS COMMUNITY FOUNDATION is looking for a qualified accountant to be its treasurer along with other trustees to support its work across the city.

The Foundation is the largest independent grant-maker in Leeds having given out £25m in grants to more than 3,000 community groups in the 10 years since it was founded.

LCF is looking for up to four trustees, including a treasurer, from a range of backgrounds to complement and grow its board. It is particularly interested in attracting people with some specialist skills and experience including those with a track record in marketing and communications, social media and technology, networking and business development – especially within high net worth individual and business communities – and third sector networks and knowledge.

“This is a very exciting time for the Foundation,” said chairman Martin Allison. “Despite our considerable achievements to date we are more ambitious than ever, as there is still a huge amount to do to tackle inequality and hardship within the city.

“Our strong links with private individuals and the business sector have enabled us to raise funds to support our grant-making that have directly and positively impacted over 200,000 lives in the city with many more people benefiting indirectly.

“LCF’s trustees are highly motivated, committed and enthusiastic about what we do and are supported by an effective and well-respected chief executive and team.”
