Hotel contract worth £1.2m awarded to building firm

MECHANICAL and electrical firm G&H Building Services has won its latest contract with Premier Inn.

The £1.2 million contract is with building contractor JJ Rhatigan & Company.

G&H Building Services has been appointed to carry out the full mechanical and electrical works for one of Premier Inn’s new hotel developments in London.

G&H will install features including air conditioning units and heating and lighting in the 90-bed scheme.

G&H Building Services’ pre-construction director, David Davis, said: “We have extensive experience working in London and also the leisure industry; this is our second major scheme for Premier Inn.

“We have been appointed because of our expertise delivering schemes in the capital that present unique challenges.

“It involves invasive work which will also see us relocating and maintaining services from the shops below that include EE, Shop Direct and New Look – all very busy stores.

“Limited on-site storage facilities, small delivery areas with restricted access, and highly populated areas like Brixton high street require great experience and we have a proven track record of managing successful ‘just in time’ delivery operations.

“This is why we are regularly winning work of this calibre and growing as a business with work across the UK.”

UK contracts manager at JJ Rhatigan & Company, Niall Higgins, said: “We have a long-standing and enviable track record developing hotels for some of the biggest global names in the sector and this latest project underlines our capabilities.

“We have worked regularly with G&H Building Services and once again selected them to manage the M&E works because of their professionalism and ability to deliver to the highest standards.”

The G&H Group recently moved into new headquarters and has seen turnover rise to £18.47m last year, up from £14.13m in 2013.
